Privacy Policy
This policy explains what information ZestFlix ("we", "us") collects when you use zestflix.live (the "Site"), and how it's used. We built ZestFlix to be usable without an account, and we keep data collection to what's needed to make the Site work well.
1. Information we collect
Search queries. Text you type into the search bar is processed in your browser to filter titles. We don't store a personal history of your searches on our servers.
Local device storage. We cache poster image paths in your browser's localStorage so pages load faster on repeat visits. This stays on your device and isn't transmitted to us.
Usage analytics. If we use an analytics provider (such as Google Analytics), it may collect standard technical data like your approximate location, device/browser type, and pages visited, in aggregate and anonymized where possible. You can opt out using your browser's Do Not Track setting or an ad-blocker.
Log data. Our hosting provider may automatically log IP addresses and request metadata for security and reliability purposes, consistent with standard web server operation.
2. How we use information
- To operate, maintain, and improve the Site
- To understand aggregate usage patterns (e.g. which titles are popular)
- To detect and prevent abuse or security issues
We do not sell personal information, and we do not build advertising profiles on individual visitors.
3. Third-party services
ZestFlix displays data from The Movie Database (TMDB) and links out to third-party streaming providers (Netflix, Prime Video, Disney+, and others) and to JustWatch. Once you click through to one of these services, their own privacy policy governs your interaction — we encourage you to review those policies.
4. Cookies
We use minimal cookies or local storage strictly for site functionality (such as remembering your last filter selection) and, if enabled, anonymous analytics. We don't use cookies for cross-site ad targeting.
5. Children's privacy
ZestFlix is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
6. Your choices
You can clear your browser's localStorage at any time to remove cached data. You can also use browser settings or extensions to block analytics scripts.
7. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy occasionally. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above.
